Refrigerated case is widely used in supermarket and retail stores etc. There are mainly 2 types:open front type and glass door enclosed type.

Many merchants initially chose open front refrigerated case, because it is friendly to customers.  Customers can intuitively see the goods and pick what they like up easily and conveniently.  The others believe that refrigerated case with glass door is clean, freshening and more energy-efficient in operation.  It can reduce their refrigeration operating costs.

From the current refrigeration trend, we find that glass door refrigerated cases are becoming more and more popular. Also there are many merchants choose to install retrofit glass doors to their open front cases.

So why do people becoming prefer glass doors? Why do your open front refrigerated case need glass door?

Reducing Operating Costs

For open front refrigerated case,its refrigeration system basically need to work all the day time. This is to keep freshening needed low temperature inside the case. The freshening temperature differs greatly from the ambient temperature. Because there is no isolation between the two temperature zones,heat exchange occurred directly. In order to maintain the low temperature for preservation, the refrigeration system has to work continuously. This consumes a lot of electricity. Although some cases equipped with transparent drawn curtains for night use, it still consumes a lot due to its poor sealing.  All these increase the operating costs.

After installing glass doors, the two temperature zones are separated. Independent low temperature space formed inside the case. Coupled with the good thermal insulation performance of glass door, the case can maintain low temperature for a long time.  That can greatly reduce the refrigeration system’s running time. This means energy consumption is also reduced as well as your Operating Costs .

Enhance Refrigerated Case Display Effect

Using glass doors will not reduce the display area of refrigerated cases too much.  Even,using slimline glass door or border-less transparent door can almost maintain the same display area as the open front case.

Also the light reflection caused by glass will overlay to the goods which will give a better display effect. This overlay makes the goods look more attractive, enhance the customers’ desire to buy,thus increase sales.

Some merchants worry that an extra program to open the door will cumber customers and reduce sales, but the application data shows that it does not. Most customers believe that the food inside the glass door will be cleaner and the fruits & vegetables will be fresher. The conclusion is they prefer to buy goods in the glass door refrigerated cases.
